³Ô¹ÏÍø recently convened its third staff meeting of 2025, bringing together faculty, administrative staff, and leadership in a comprehensive gathering that highlighted the institution's continued growth, academic achievements, and commitment to fostering a supportive educational environment.

The meeting commenced with a Staff Café Talk featuring Adrianna Lawera, Wellbeing Strategy Manager at Villa Group, who brought her extensive 15 years of global experience to address the critical importance of wellbeing in educational environments. As an ICF-certified Coach and practitioner of Hatha & Yin Yoga and Vibrational Healing, Lawera shared valuable insights on designing initiatives that support mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing within academic institutions.

Lawera's presentation emphasized the significance of building emotional resilience, reducing stress, and encouraging intentional living practices among educational professionals. Her role as a Global Wellness Day Key Supporter and World Digital Detox Day Ambassador for the Maldives added international perspective to her discussion of sustainable, self-caring habits. She reinforced the fundamental principle that thriving teams begin with thriving individuals, a message that resonated throughout the ³Ô¹ÏÍø community.

The meeting celebrated the significant expansion of ³Ô¹ÏÍø's academic community with the introduction of 29 new staff members who joined between May and August 2025. This substantial growth reflects the institution's continued development and its ability to attract diverse talent from various academic and professional backgrounds.

Vice Rector Dr. Ali Najeeb provided comprehensive updates on ³Ô¹ÏÍø's strategic direction, outlining the institution's vision for continued growth and academic excellence. His presentation covered key initiatives and developments that position ³Ô¹ÏÍø as a leading educational institution in the Maldives, addressing both current achievements and future aspirations.

The meeting featured multiple recognition ceremonies that celebrated outstanding contributions across different areas of ³Ô¹ÏÍø's operations. The Employee of the Month awards for May, June, and July 2025 honored individuals who demonstrated exceptional dedication and professional excellence in their respective roles.

  • Fathimath Hana, Senior Administrative Executive at the Centre for Foundation Studies, received recognition for May 2025

  • Dr. Arockia Mary, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, was honored for June 2025

  • Salavutheen Noortheen, Lecturer at the Centre for Foundation Studies, received the July 2025 award

The ceremony also celebrated academic promotions, with Dr. Tamilarasi R from the School of Computer Science and Dr. Mohamed Shekaib Alam from the Faculty of Shariah and Law receiving appointments as Assistant Professors.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to recognizing the remarkable research achievements of ³Ô¹ÏÍø faculty members. Notable achievements included publications in high-impact Q1 journals by faculty members conducting cutting-edge research in areas such as machine learning applications in energy efficiency, healthcare innovations, sustainable structural applications, comparative analysis of machine learning models, and labor dispute resolution. Additional contributions appeared in Q2 and Q3 journals, as well as important book chapters published in Scopus-indexed volumes.

The research topics covered critical contemporary issues including nanoemulsion-based therapies against multidrug-resistant bacteria, polymeric nanoparticles for targeted therapy, bamboo fiber applications in cement mortar, sleep knowledge impact on healthcare professionals, environmental education provision analysis, blockchain applications for corporate social responsibility, and AI-enhanced educational methodologies.

Faculty members also contributed to ³Ô¹ÏÍø's own International Journal of Social Research and Innovation, demonstrating the institution's commitment to fostering local research excellence while maintaining international academic standards.

The meeting featured presentations on institutional policy development and academic program expansion. Fathimath Shifaza, Director of Policy & International Relations, presented new policies that will guide ³Ô¹ÏÍø's operations and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with educational best practices and regulatory requirements.

Nizna Ali Didi, Director of Marketing & Communications, introduced new academic programs that reflect ³Ô¹ÏÍø's responsiveness to evolving educational needs and market demands. These program developments demonstrate the institution's commitment to providing relevant, high-quality educational opportunities that prepare students for success in their chosen fields.

Dr. Fazeela Ibrahim, Dean of the Institute for Research & Innovation, provided updates on the International Conference on Social Research and Innovation (ICSRI) 2025. This annual conference serves as a platform for academic discourse and knowledge sharing, bringing together researchers, academics, and practitioners to discuss contemporary issues and innovative solutions in social research.

Registrar Selina Mohamed briefed the staff on graduation preparations and the Student Achievement Award 2025, highlighting ³Ô¹ÏÍø's dedication to celebrating student success and academic accomplishment.

The meeting concluded with remarks from Rector Dr. Ahmed Anwar, who provided inspirational leadership and outlined his vision for ³Ô¹ÏÍø's continued development.
